The Prague Castle
The Summer tourist season at Prague Castle
(April 1 – October 31)
- The castle area is open DAILY 5.00–24.00
- Buildings accessible with entrance tickets (Old Royal Palace, The Prague Castle Gallery, Basilica of St George, St George’s Convent, Powder Tower, Golden Lane and Daliborka Tower, Rožmberk Palace - new addition to organisation of visiting, entrance from Jiřská Street, No. 2) DAILY 9.00–18.00
- St Vitus’ Cathedral: III.–X. Mon–Sat 9.00–18.00, Sun 12.00–18.00
- The Prague Castle gardens (the Royal garden, the Southern gardens),
the Stag moat are open DAILY (IV. and X. 10.00–18.00, V. and IX. 10.00–19.00, VI. and VII. 10.00–21.00, VIII. 10.00–20.00) During the summer season access to the Southern Gardens will be partially limited due to repairs made on the water and sewerage systems.
- The palace park in Lány April 3 – November 2, 2010 (Wed and Thu 14.00–18.00, Sat, Sun and holidays 10.00–18.00) also open to the public.

The permanent exhibition of the Prague Castle Gallery represents the collections of Rudolf II., Ferdinand III and the Archduke Leopold William, purchases by the Masaryk National Fund during the First Republic and recent acquisitions. Important works by such famous artists as Titian, Veronese, Cranach and many others are on display.

- THE STORY OF PRAGUE CASTLE

The exhibition is divided into two parts - the main route is a chronological introduction to the heads of the Bohemian state, key events and the structural development of the Castle precincts from prehistory to the present, while the second part - the Stories themselves - bring to life individual themes associated with Prague Castle.

This exhibition, the first undertaking of its kind in Central Europe, presents a collection of original jewellery, watches and accessories of the Cartier family of jewellers, who recently celebrated the 160th anniversary of the firm’s existence.
